"A big value add was often RDI applying visualization lessons gained from other clients into our business. I think too much in terms of tables and spreadsheets and appreciated where RDI created drilldowns, filters and contextualised graphics to enhance the user experience and promote greater understanding of relationships. At times, we didn’t know what was possible and RDI provided us with different views - which sometimes provided unique perspectives for us. A good job also with providing more rigour to data governance over our BI data.
The data upload and refresh processes created were very easy, intuitive and visual. We wanted our core metrics to be supported with much more granular information with easy to use drill downs. Key metrics like retention, new sales, pipeline – we could drill into a few dimensions on what was driving change, what do the metrics look like if we could just change this one input.
Our build started with Finance documenting what the business needed for a suite of operating reports. We took that to RDI and we demo’d their initial build back to the management team. Somewhat iterative but we got to a working product very quickly. Subsequent asks by the business have included the business at the very beginning of the build process as the business took a much more active role early on."
